Harvest Time

by James Email

It is hard to believe that it is nearing the end of October already. I can't believe how time flies. I am sorry for not keeping up with my blog better. With another quarter at online college, work, and family I got behind.

While alot of people are thinking about Halloween and the various activities associated with that this time of year my mind goes to something different. I begin to think about the harvest. This is the time of year where the farms reap what they sewed earlier in the year. I enjoy seeing the crops being harvested, it is a reminder to me that hard work and determination (not to mention prayer) get you some where. Seeing these farmers plant, cultivate, and tend to their crops day in and day out and then see what they have been working for amazes me.

This is the time of year when God knocks on the door of my soul and has me examine myself. 2 Corinthians 9:6 ,Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously., always come to mind this time of year and it makes me really think about how I an living and how I need to change. Usually there is more change than not involved. Unfortunately I hear the same things every year, a reminder that I need to keep working and try to become more Christ-like.

I thank God for this time of year and how he works in me during this wonderful season. I am truly blessed and I thank God for that.
